Autism in Racing (AIR) is proud to welcome Paul Mullin, professional football player and striker for Wrexham AFC, as an official ambassador, strengthening our mission to improve accessibility, understanding and inclusion for autistic individuals across sport.

A recognised figure in professional football, Paul brings both reach and authenticity to the role. As a father to an autistic son, his commitment is deeply personal, grounded in lived experience and a genuine desire to support other families navigating similar journeys.

Speaking about his involvement, Paul has shared how close autism is to him and his family, and his passion to use his platform to raise awareness and improve understanding. His appointment reflects a growing movement across sport to better recognise and support neurodiversity.

“I’m really proud to take on the role as an ambassador for Autism in Racing. Autism is something that’s very close to me and my family, so it means a lot on a personal level.

If I can use my platform to raise awareness, improve understanding, and support families going through similar experiences, then that’s something I’m committed to. I’m looking forward to being involved and helping wherever I can.”

Paul joins William Buick as an Autism in Racing ambassador, helping to extend the conversation around autism beyond racing and into the wider sporting landscape. At AIR, we believe inclusion should not be limited to one environment. Autism exists across every community, and sport has a powerful role to play in creating spaces that feel accessible, welcoming and supportive.

Through our autism friendly racedays, we regularly hear from families who would not attend racing without the support we provide. Creating environments that feel predictable and accessible is essential. Our sensory and quiet spaces, trained hosts, and clear pre-event communication help reduce barriers and make racing a more inclusive experience.

Visibility and representation play an important role in building that trust. When individuals like Paul step forward, it helps more people feel seen and understood, while encouraging wider conversations around inclusion across sport.

Paul’s involvement is not just symbolic. It brings with it an opportunity to reach new audiences, challenge misconceptions, and reinforce the message that neurodiversity should be recognised and supported across all areas of life.

As our founder Bobby Beevers has shared, Paul’s passion and personal connection make him a powerful addition to the Autism in Racing team, helping to drive forward awareness and meaningful change.

This partnership represents a shared commitment to improving accessibility in sport and ensuring that autistic individuals and their families feel supported, included and able to take part.

We are incredibly proud to welcome Paul to Autism in Racing and look forward to working together to continue building a more inclusive future for sport.
