Easter Excitement Builds for Autism-Friendly Racedays

As the Easter school holidays approach, families across the country are looking for days out that feel exciting, welcoming and manageable and this spring, Autism in Racing is delivering just that.

Follow the action at your own pace, Close to the action or from our quieter spaces.

Throughout April, Autism in Racing is delivering a series of Autism Friendly Racedays, many of which take place during the Easter break and include Family Fun Day activities, giving families the opportunity to enjoy the thrill of racing alongside child-friendly entertainment in an inclusive and supportive environment.

Easter outings can be challenging for some families. Busy venues, unexpected noise and packed schedules can quickly become overwhelming. Autism Friendly Racedays are designed to change that experience, offering reassurance that flexibility, understanding and support are built into the day from the outset.

Families are encouraged to enjoy the racedays in a way that works for them, whether that means staying for one race or the whole afternoon, taking part in activities or stepping away to quieter spaces when needed. The focus is on choice, comfort and confidence.

Across racecourses including Sedgefield, Pontefract, Exeter, Fontwell Park, Chelmsford City, Great Yarmouth, Market Rasen and Cheltenham, Easter fixtures often bring an added sense of fun. Many of these racedays feature holiday-themed activities, opportunities for children to play and explore, and open spaces where families can take breaks between races.

All Autism Friendly Racedays are delivered by Autism in Racing, working closely with racecourses to ensure staff are autism-aware and families feel genuinely welcome. These small but important adjustments help create an environment where neurodiverse families can relax and enjoy the day without pressure or judgement.

The heart of the experience remains the racing itself! The excitement of seeing horses on the track, the atmosphere of a live race meeting and the chance to share a memorable day out as a family.
