Dubai Racing Club and Meydan Racecourse Champion Inclusion with the Autism in Racing Handicap

Race 7 of the Dubai Racing Carnival carried the Autism in Racing name on an international stage, helping promote awareness, accessibility and inclusion across the sport.

Dubai Racing Club and Meydan Racecourse have shown their support for greater inclusion in horseracing by naming Race 7 of the Dubai Racing Carnival the Autism in Racing Handicap.

Held at the world-renowned Meydan Racecourse, the race provided an important international platform to raise awareness of autism and highlight the role racing can play in creating more inclusive environments for autistic people and their families.

For Autism in Racing, this was a meaningful moment. To see the organisation’s name carried on such a prestigious stage reflects the growing recognition that inclusion matters across every level of the sport.

A powerful statement of support

The naming of the Autism in Racing Handicap was far more than a race title. It was a visible statement that racing can be a place where difference is recognised, respected and celebrated.

By promoting Autism in Racing within the Dubai Racing Carnival, Dubai Racing Club helped bring the conversation around neurodiversity to a wider audience and reinforced the importance of accessibility in sport and entertainment.

This kind of support matters. Visibility leads to awareness, awareness leads to understanding, and understanding helps create real change for autistic individuals and families who want to enjoy racing in welcoming and supportive spaces.

A memorable win on an important night

Adding to an already significant evening, the Autism in Racing Handicap was won by Will Scarlet, ridden by Ray Dawson for Gainsborough Stables.

We would like to extend our congratulations to all connections on a fantastic victory at Meydan Racecourse.

Moments like this bring even greater visibility to the race and the message behind it, helping amplify awareness of Autism in Racing far beyond the track.

The combination of sporting success and purpose created a powerful moment. One that not only celebrated excellence in racing but also reinforced the importance of inclusion, awareness and opportunity within the sport.

Looking ahead

The Autism in Racing Handicap at Meydan is a strong example of how racing can use its platform to promote inclusion in a meaningful and impactful way.

Autism in Racing is proud to have been represented at Meydan Racecourse and grateful to Dubai Racing Club for helping showcase the CIC’s mission to an international audience.

As conversations around access and inclusion continue to grow across the sport, partnerships and moments like this will remain vital in helping shape a more welcoming future for everyone in racing.
